This concept was developed as a way to introduce students to real-world media scenarios. Since our studios were not built, we brought the equipment and the guests to the classroom without giving the students a warning. When they arrived in class and saw the lights and the equipment, they asked, “What’s going on Dr. Ward?” I responded, it’s a press conference in the class today, so prepare your questions. I handed out the biographical sketch of our guest, Dr. Georgia Dunston, world-renowned genetic scientist, President and Founder of the Whole Genome Science Foundation. The students were immersed in the kind of environment that exists when there is breaking news.
